Hi any broker or investing app you can recommend for someone starting small in investing here in Italy? I just saw your video from 3 yrs ago today while searching about reviews on investing on revolut so I got curious and decided to look for another regarding investing through your other videos then found this about what u recommend and what not to recommend when investing. I just downloaded the app last Dec 13 and tried crypto and investing in stocks.

Great vid as usual. But please, can i still invest in S&P 500 through 212 Trading from Italy, or they're absolutely different?
Also, given my zero experience about investing, I'm planning to take some courses (on how to invest) before i may start to invest.
Please how did you become expert yourself?

I don't understand this Interactive Brokers. Why it is so expensive to buy ETF throught it. For example if I try to buy one etf NUKL with market price 33.80 euro in German Stock, preview will show me price of 39 euros?! That is huge fee. I live in Finland.

Hello, I don’t think trading 212 still has the protection of 20,000€. If you go to their website they say that the money is invested on QMMF, and because of that the money is treated as an investment and not as money held in a bank, therefore the protection will not be available. Can you confirm if I’m getting it right?

Hi, it seems that in the trading 212 platform you are not the owner of your stocks (is it true?) Also when you have money in your account earning interest, the fund of up to 20 thousand euros and the insurance stop having effect.

Great content, Kai. I really enjoyed this comparison. After watching this, I was keen to try Lightyear, but it seems right now they only support GBP, EUR, and HUF (so if youre based in Poland for example they will outright refuse to allow you to create an account) I'm probably going to go with Trading212 as they seem to offer the best flexibility along with no fees for inactivity.

    Great video as always Kai!
As a Norwegian, whenever I'm looking for advice on brokers and related tools I look for your videos first.

Please read on, as I would really like your input on this:

I really disagree with your view on Etoro for a lot of reasons:
    1. CopyTrader is optional, and as such it cannot be counted as a negative, but it can be positive for people who are not that interested in spending time learning about investment, and just wanna invest in someone they trust and see that have good average returns. Also anyone can earn money from copy-trading, so it can be another income source if you're really good at investing and/or give good advice so that a lot of people copy you.
    2. The fees aren't bad at all. There's no fees when trading stocks, and the spread is usually 0.1-0.2%. With the minimum investment amount being $10, that means the minimum "fee" is 1 cent, or $0.01. This is the most important fee, since it will be applied every time you purchase a stock. The withdrawal fee sucks a bit, but it's a really small amount, and if you're serious about investing you won't be withdrawing your money any time soon anyways. If you have put over $25k into your account there's no withdrawal fee anymore. The inactivity fee also kinda sucks (like all fees), but this is also a small fee, and it's only applied if you don't log in for a year. You don't have to buy or sell anything, just log in, which takes 30 seconds at most… so very easily avoided. The conversion fees also suck, but if you use something like Revolut to deposit USD there is no conversion fee. Alternatively you can also deposit into Etoro Money to avoid the conversion fees, though I haven't tried that myself, so I can't say for sure how easy and reliable that is.

There are a lot of cons though, but for me the pros have outweighed them so far. Here's a summary of the greatest pors and cons imo:
    Cons
    1. Lack of transparancy: Even though Etoro has much lower fees than other competitors (especially for low amounts of money), they market themselves as free. As you mentioned in this video, they are not free since they earn money mainly from the spread. This is a shame, because the fees they do have are really low, so they could just market them as low fees. Instead they market them as free, and that makes a lot of people distrust them.
    2. Bugs: In my 2 years using Etoro I've noticed a lot of bugs, unclear messaging and overall bad UX design. Etoro is for the most part a really smooth experience and a sleek app, but there are still a lot of cases where you will encounter bugs related to state which (fortunately) can be solved by closing and re-opening the app. There's also some bad UI choices, like having Daily P/L and Change (which looks like it could be Daily P/L%) have different starting points and ending points. Seemingly one counts the P/L since the market open (16:00 in Norway), while the other counts the P/L % since the start of the day (05:00 in Norway). When reporting these bugs and bad UI/UX designs to support they usually brush it off saying it's the intended way for it to function and that I simply misunderstood, instead of realizing that I probably misunderstood because it's confusing having two different starting points for percentage and dollar gains.
    3. Etoro will sometimes close trading on assets for seemingly no reason. Sometimes it feels like market manipulation more than anything. Now this is not exclusive to Etoro, but it's still a really bad thing. Thankfully as a long term investor this doesn't affect me much. If you are a day- or swing-trader however, this will be a dealbreaker.
    4. Fees and spreads on crypto, funds and commodities currencies are bad, so for those I recommend using other platforms. Especially for crypto and funds where there are a lot of alternatives with no fees or very small fees.
    5. You can't transfer stocks to other brokers: This might become a dealbreaker for me eventually because, but I hope that they will (like Trading212) offer stock transfers for a small fee.

    Pros
    1. No fees when trading stocks, and very low spreads (contrary to popular belief). There are a few other fees like conversion, inactivity and withdrawal fees which (like I mentioned earlier) can all be easily avoided.
    2. Trade execution is fast relative to many older brokers, and usually happens in less than a second.
    3. The news and social part of Etoro is great for getting a feel for the market sentiment.
    4. You can get extra income from being a popular investor if you spend some time actively posting about the market and your investments.
    5. The app is for the most part really user friendly and smooth (even with the visual bugs), and even though it's not perfect it's better than the alternatives I've tried like Interactive Brokers and Nordnet. The only investing app I've tried that has a better overall user experience is Revolut.

The problem is that what you say about Revolut’s protection level applies to the other brokers you mentioned too. All brokers you mention offer the same 20.000-22.000€ investment protection to EU clients. So, why pick specifically Revolut for this reason?
