for those who are wondering, if you have say ten coin flips, lets say half of them is heads half of them is tails, so you know you already need a minimum of five flips to be able to get to hh, since you can only start with h or t, now for the second h or t , you approximate say two point five heads but then you also have eto account for the other four flips if you dont get heads on the first try . so the answer is between five and seven point five, gives you an intuition.
QD: developer, if not api monkey, definitely not quant
Trader: just gambler, maybe smart but not quant
Execution/Monetization: glorified TCA, not quant
Alpha research: regression monkey, not quant
ML researcher: glorified regression monkey, not quant
Risk: of course not quant
Bottom line: there is no true quant

The problem is with the nature of work.Jane street has stolen so much money from the Retail investors by Manipulation in India.Paid fines to Sebi ,.I don’t think it is ethical .Many people I know endup leaving it.Stealing someone’s lifesaving is morally wrong and now this company is banned in India.
Let’s establish that making $400k-$700k right out of undergrad is absolutely insane. We are talking S-level executive in corporate earning at that point and those roles are generally held by people around 50+. This is NOT normal, this is an extremely exceptional scenario. Also by the way, he doesn’t have this job yet. This is a future possible job scenario.
